Sydney mayors take us on a $2 million ride: limousines, iPads, bar fridges and more means taxpayers are footing the bill

Sydney Mayors are riding a chauffeur-driven gravy train that costs ratepayers almost $2 million a year.

Ms Moore has a chauffeur-driven Toyota Prius and — in a city where parking spaces have made way for cycle lanes — a reserved parking spot under Town Hall. Ms Moore’s deputy Robyn Kemmis also gets a Prius, driver and parking spot at ratepayer expense.

“She is cutting car spaces in the city and yet has her own chauffeur,” Sydney City Councillor Edward Mandla said. “I would love to challenge her to get an Opal card and see how the rest of us have to cope.”
