Centennial Park isn’t just for locals to cycle to. It’s a major state asset for the families of NSW.
Part of our job in Council is to actively think about attracting people out of our local area to support business and commerce by spending money.
Yes they won’t cycle there and they will bring they gas guzzling people mover and need somewhere to park. That’s just part of the problem solving exercise.
As for the park, most teenagers see it as outdated and lame. Underground parking and An Outdoor Adventure Centre is just the sort of modern thinking that’s required.
I’m sure the forward thinking Governor Macquarie would be pleased to see young people of the burbs being active and getting off their i-pads
