Edward moved a motion to stop the removal of a much loved Jacaranda tree in Chippingdale that the Lord Mayor wanted removed to make way for an unnecessary bike traffic signal on an existing bike path.

The Lord Mayor ignored a petition with 1119 signatures and used her casting vote to ensure the chainsaws started with the cutting down of this tree.
